Music in Worship at River Road
“Healing Waters” by Clif Hardin performed by the River Road Adult Choir
At River Road, music plays an important and integral part of the Sunday morning worship experience. Musical, spoken and visual elements are woven into a meaningful whole, touching heart, mind and spirit.
The River Road Choir provides special Music Services in the winter and spring, often accompanied by instrumental ensembles.
“Welcome, Welcome” by Clif Hardin performed by the River Road Adult Choir
River Road has a rich history of providing outstanding choral music for the congregation. Repertoire ranges from classical to folk, gospel and a wide variety of contemporary music. The River Road Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings, and sings about three out of four Sundays from September through May.
Our youth choirs not only provide a place to learn and grow musically, but also are a great place to get to know other youth in our congregation, and to have fun while making music. There are three groups that span Kindergarten through high school:
- The Chalice Lighters Choir (K – 2nd)
- The River Road Youth Choir (3rd – 5th)
- The River Road Teen Choir (6th – 12th)
All groups rehearse on Tuesday evenings and sing about once per month at Sunday worship services.
Talented congregants share the gift of music with members of our larger community throughout the year.
