Our meetings are held on the 3rd Sunday of the month usually at 11:30; watch for announcements in the eWeekly for details. Each meeting begins with a 10-15 minute informative presentation from a River Roader with expertise in some area of clean, green living. Business of the committee follows.

Our next meeting will be on SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 19 ON ZOOM AND IN ROOM 22, following the 11:15 Q&A with RRUUC’s Solar Provider about how our new solar array serves the community with clean energy.

????THANK YOU!????

Thanks once again to all who contributed to the achievement of our Green Sanctuary recertification, and to those who volunteered to help on Sunday, Jan. 22, with the celebration during our first coffee hour back in the Fellowship Hall! We’re also happy to be adding new members to our Earth Ministry group–it’s definitely an all-hands-on-deck situation! Welcome to Bill Booth, Sonha Mason, Nancy Koran and Nisreen Schneider.

There are three new presentations and recordings for your information in the RRUUC Earth Ministry Resource Library, found at this link:

January 22 – Dr. Phil Webster, Climate Advocacy Team Leader for the UU Legislative Ministry of Maryland on climate legislation priorities during the MD General Assembly of 2023.

January 17 – Walter Weiss, EM Co-chair, on eco-driving, or how to get the best mileage from your gas-powered car, until you are in a position to buy that electric vehicle!

November 20 – (CIF) Mary Purdy: Saving the Planet with Your Fork: an eco-dietitian explains how food consumption affects the climate and explains how we can use food to build healthy bodies and a more sustainable future. (YouTube recording)

Our work is ongoing! In addition to keeping our own house green clean and sustainable, we have a responsibility to guide our local and state representatives in working towards Green policies and laws. MD Sierra Club provides training for constituents and then an opportunity to meet with representatives the following week. Click here to sign up!
