Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world’s grief. Do justly now, love mercy now, walk humbly now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it.

Get Out the Vote (GOTV)
Our efforts/actions are non-partisan and we partner with other non-partisan groups in various efforts to “get out the vote.” We seek to activate, educate, and empower underrepresented voters who do not have a history of voting regularly. These efforts take the form of postcard writing, texting, letter writing, and phone banking. Some of these actions are spearheaded by members of RRUUC supported by many congregational volunteers, but other efforts/actions can be done individually.

Center for Common Ground was founded to educate and empower under-represented voters in voter suppression states to engage in elections and advocate for their right to vote.
Together, we can build a democracy that prioritizes the voices of ALL people.

It’s here! Your opportunity to help get out the vote (GOTV) for the Florida primaries.
This time, you have over a month to complete your postcards. You won’t need to mail them until Aug 1 – Aug 8.
Use one of the registration links below and a postcarding captain will contact you with the details:
Already postcarded this year? Or expressed your postcarding interest in a 2022 survey? Use this simplified, shortened postcarding registration form.
New to 2022 Postcarding? (Welcome to this easy and fun volunteer opportunity!) Use the regular postcarding registration form.
POSTCARDING FACTS:
- Why are the Florida Primaries so Important? In national elections, Florida plays an important role as the largest bellwether state, occasionally determining the outcome of elections for U.S. President — as it did in 2000. In a 2020 study, Florida was ranked as the 11th hardest state for citizens to vote in.
- Why the primaries? Starting with the primaries gives us a chance to build real people power for the mid-terms.
This Reclaim Our Vote video gives really good background on why and how we postcard.
Even if you have sent postcards with other organizations, we ask writers new to volunteering with us to read our Postcarding Guidelines in order to understand our philosophy and methods.

Good Trouble Goals:

- 202,600 texts = Average 200 text messages per member
- 203 volunteers = 20 percent volunteer engagement
- At least 2 congregants are line warmers, poll workers, or poll watchers
