“What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined together—to strengthen each other in all labor, to minister to each other in all sorrow, to share with each other in all gladness, to be one with each other in the silent, unspoken memories?” – George Eliot
River Road Unitarian Universalist Congregation provides a natural wooded setting to celebrate weddings and commitment ceremonies. Our Ministers, Director of Music, and staff are experienced in helping couples create wedding or commitment ceremonies that are unique, beautiful and memorable.
Our Ministers appreciate the importance that this moment has for you. As you work together, the ministers will help you create a unique ceremony that reflects the special values, vision and dreams you bring to their union. Drawing on both spiritual and secular traditions, a Unitarian Universalist ceremony will weave elements from your religious or philosophical backgrounds together with your current hopes and dreams, to create a beautiful statement of the deeper meanings this special day embodies for you.
For more information about working with the Ministers and the Director of Music for your ceremony, please read more about marriage at RRUUC, including applying for a license here in Montgomery County. You will aslo want to refer to other information and building rental information.
Depending on the size of the wedding, receptions may also be held at RRUUC.
Join us on any Sunday morning (9:15 or 11:15 a.m. in the fall and winter and 10:00 a.m. in the summer) to experience the life and energy of our congregation and the aesthetics of our sanctuary and grounds.
