The Long Second Day

Easter Sunday only comes after the hard truths of Good Friday. First there is loss, then there is a new beginning. And between the two – stretching out in the very midst of grief and gratitude, is that long second day. After loss and before renewal. In the Christian calendar, that long waiting period is called Holy Saturday. In our lives, the waiting happens every day, in large and small ways. Let’s find each other in between the grief and the glory this Easter Sunday.
