Summer Solstice Drum Circle

Saturday, June 19 at 10:30

Welcome summer with a community drum circle led by Katy Gaughan. All ages, all levels can participate; no experience necessary. Katy will show you how to get the sounds out of the instruments before leading the group through fun games, rhythms, and songs to celebrate summer! Drumming together will be a great way for us to re-connect after being apart for so long! Drums will be provided, or you’re welcome to bring your own.

Katy Gaughan is a drummer and drum circle facilitator whose mission is to bring people together to experience the positive vibrations of the drum. Through her organization Drumming for Wellness, Katy facilitates group drumming experiences for wellness, community building and celebration.

There is no charge for this workshop, but we ask that you register so we know how many drums will be needed. Space is limited, so register soon!

Community Mandala Building

June 18-June 23

We are inviting everyone in the RRUUC community to take some contemplative time in our beautiful grounds and add your own contribution to a mandala of natural materials. Plan to bring something from your yard or your wanderings in nature – such as stones, leaves, flowers, or sticks—that we’ll weave together to form a beautiful whole. While you’re there, take some time to explore the new paths through RRUUC’s native plant/conservation area, the Springsview Garden.

Drop by any time between Friday, June 18 and Wednesday June 23. You’ll find the mandala behind the building, at the top of the paths leading to the Springsview Garden.
