West River Retreat Center Lodging
The retreat registration form gives several options to choose your lodging preference if you are staying at the retreat center Saturday night.
Those who choose the basic registration rate will be assigned to a lodge. Most of the rooms are in lodges, which have 8 rooms with 4 beds each (two bunk beds) and two shared bathrooms. All have a central lounge area and covered porch. Three of the five lodges have a small kitchenette. One lodge is fully accessible. There will be a dedicated youth lodge for grades 6-12.
People who choose the upgraded registration option will be assigned to the Retreat Center. There are 50 beds in the Retreat Center in a wing that adjoins one of the main meeting spaces and a kitchen with refrigerators, microwave, and coffee makers that is available for our use. These rooms are larger than the Lodge rooms and have four beds with only one upper bunk. There are two larger shared bathrooms at the end of the hallway.
Options for those with accessibility and special needs considerations:
Also at the upgraded registration rate there are a limited number of rooms with access to a shared, single occupancy, bathroom:
- Two of these are single rooms in the Nature Center building, which is wheelchair accessible.
- A second building (Baker Cabin) has four rooms with two beds each and has a small kitchenette and a screened porch. Baker Cabin is not wheelchair accessible and is a little farther away from the dining hall and meeting rooms than the Lodges and Retreat Center.
If you want to request this option, please choose the upgraded housing option and note on your registration form Cabin in the area labeled “Special Needs or Other Comments” that you would like to be assigned to the Nature Center or Baker Cabin.
If you have already registered, you can indicate this preference in an email to the registrar at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will assign these rooms as people requesting them register. If there are more requests than we can accommodate, the retreat committee will consult with the ministers to determine the fairest, most equitable way to assign these rooms.
Tenting: People sleeping in their own tents will be assigned to a room at the basic registration rate to give an option for sleeping if weather is inclement, and to give everyone access to bathrooms and showers, which are all within the lodges and retreat center.
