In Coming of Age 2020-21, youth will explore our connections to ourselves, our communities, nature, and the transcendent. Some of the work will be self-directed. Videos, audios, reading, or listening will be posted for each lesson. Students will have a choice of activity to explore the topic and a range of media to record their experiences.

This year’s Coming of Age classes will meet twice per month. 9th/10th grade on 2nd and 4th Wednesdays and 8th grade will meet 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at 7 pm. These meetings will be to share what students experienced between sessions and what they got out of their mini projects. For 8th grade, this will be their main religious education programming. For 9th/10th, it will be in addition to high school youth group.

All assignments will be posted here. To respond to assignments and prompts, please choose your individual class portal.

Options for recording your experiences are a choice of written, typed, in art, video, audio, photograph, etc. I ask for some sort of record keeping so that you have something to look back on when we start putting together belief statements towards the end of the class.
