UU's, Labor and Economic Justice

Rev. William Murry, RRUUC Minister Emeritus (Sunday, Aug. 25 2013)

Sermon Summary

We UU's do not have a very good record of advocating for worker's rights perhaps because we have so few members from the working class. But our commitment to social justice means we should be concerned about economic justice in a country where the top one percent are doing extremely well while many of the 99% are doing poorly. A Labor Day sermon one week early. Rev. William Murry served as President and Academic Dean, Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago until 2004. Prior to that he was a Minister at RRUU from 1981-1997. He has been a college professor of religious studies and is author of three books, several articles, father of three and grandfather of four.

The text of the sermon is also available.
