CC&C: Coffee, Controversy & Conversation

CC&C features a 50-minute long program (scheduled so that it does not conflict with either Sunday service) of guest speakers. It introduces a wide and stimulating variety of topics, and allows generous time for the audience to participate with questions and comments.

"Perversion of Justice"
Eric E.Sterling, Director of the Criminal Justice Policy Foundation

Mr. Sterling will present a 30 minute film addressing the injustice of mandatory minimum prison sentencing, and its effect on Hamedah Hasan and her family: a mother of 3, as well as being a grandmother, she has spent over 19 years of her life in prison for a first-time, non-violent drug offense. UU Minister Melissa Mummert has produced this moving personal documentary. Mr. Sterling, one of the experts interviewed in the film, will be there to answer questions and discuss reform bills being considered by Congress.
