Nursery and Preschool Sign-In
If you have a child in the nursery or 2s & 3s classes, please sign your child in when you arrive and sign them out when you pick them up.
Two Teachers in a Classroom
We try always to schedule two teachers in each classroom. One teacher is always available to provide extra assistance and get help if necessary.
First Aid Kits in the Classrooms
All classrooms are supplied with a first-aid kit, which includes bandages, tweezers, alcohol wipes, first-aid cream, and latex gloves.
Fire Safety
Fire exit instructions are posted inside each classroom by the door. Should the fire alarm sound, please proceed directly to the lower parking lot, and Sunday School teachers will bring your children there.
Special Needs
Please make certain that RE staff and teachers know of any allergies or special needs your child may have. Indicate such needs on the registration form.
Code of Ethics
All volunteers working with children and youth are required to sign the following Unitarian Universalist Code of Ethics:
Adults and older youth who are in leadership roles are in a position of stewardship and play a key role in fostering spiritual development of both individuals and the community. It is, therefore, especially important that those in leadership positions be well qualified to provide the special nurture, care, and support that will enable youth to develop a positive sense of self and a spirit of independence and responsibility. The relationship between young people and their leaders must be one of mutual respect if the positive potential is to be realized.
There are no more important areas of growth than those of self-worth and development of a healthy identity as a sexual being. Leaders play a key role in assisting youth in these areas of growth. Wisdom dictates that all those involved suffer damaging effects when leaders become sexually involved with young persons in their care; therefore, leaders will refrain from engaging in sexual, seductive, or erotic behavior with youth in the community. Neither shall they sexually harass or engage in behavior with youth that constitutes verbal, emotional or physical abuse.
