September 18 Required Teacher Orientation and Training

On Saturday, September 18th from 3:30 pm to 5:30, all River Road teachers for children and youth will gather in the afternoon.  Please contact Kerridwen Henry at khenry(at)rruuc.org if you need to attend the alternate session on the evening of September 16.

September 19 First Day of Sunday School

September 19th is a day of many important firsts!  It's our first day to have two services again (at 9:15 and 11:15); it's Rev. Dr. Maureen Killoran's first day to preach as our interim senior minister; and it's the first day for children, youth, and teachers to join together to begin creating their class communities.

September 26 Teacher Dedication

At the beginning of each service, we'll honor all the volunteers who will be teaching Religious Education this year.  This dedication ceremony will be a short, meaningful way for all of us to consider the ways we help each other grow and learn.

October 31 Multigenerational Halloween Party

Between services, we'll show off our creative costumes, trick-or-treat for Unicef, visit the Haunted House (put on by our youth), make joke cards for the Children's Inn, and go on a hunt for healthy treats for local kids in need.  Please email Kerridwen at khenry(at)rruuc.org if you'd like to help.

During Sunday School classes, children will learn more about the organizations we're supporting in the party: The Children's Inn and Manna Smart Sacks Program.

November 7 Bring a Friend Sunday

Members of all ages are invited to bring a friend to River Road.  Visiting children and youth are welcome to join in the Sunday School classes.

November 21: Guest at Your Table Collection for UUSC

We will devote some time during each service to learning about the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee and how it helps people throughout the world to help themselves.  The children and teens will have started to learn about this in their Sunday School classes the week before.  On November 21, Guest at Your Table Boxes will be given to members of all ages.  We'll collect coins and bills in our homes and workplaces and return the boxes in December.

November 21 All Souls Food Drive

The entire congregation brings food for our youth to take to All Souls Unitarian Church to be distributed to families for Thanksgiving.  Don't forget to grab some cans on your way to River Road!
