- ACTION Week is an annual week of one-time volunteer, advocacy, educational, and children’s activities. This year’s theme is “Standing on the Side of Love and Justice.”
- ACTION Week is a fun way to meet new people, spend time with friends and family, and give back to our community.
- ACTION Week is part of RRUUC’s strategic plan, as we reach out to the wider community and unite in a spirit of fun and caring.
- ACTION Week is a way to learn about some of the many wonderful volunteer activities available with non-profit organizations in the greater DC area.
How to Participate
Sign up for volunteer, educational, and children’s activities by April 4. See pages 2-11 of the catalog for activity listings and other ways to participate.
Become a team leader! Activities that say “leader needed” will need someone to finalize details with the partner organization, organize carpools, and call other volunteers to remind them about dates, times, and what to bring.
Don’t let transportation be a concern! If you want to participate but have transportation concerns, activity leaders will work with you to arrange a ride.
Come to the ACTION Week Celebration! on Sunday, April 25, after the second service at RRUUC. Adults and children will enjoy lunch, a slide show, and a chance to share ACTION Week experiences.
Register Here or use the form at the back of the catalog to sign up for activities and the Celebration! You can hand in the forms after Sunday services, put them in the ACTION Week mailbox in the RRUUC office, or send them to RRUUC by mail.
Look over the donation listing at the back of the catalog, and see if you can contribute some “good goods” to meet needs listed, many of which are important supplies for the “hands-on activities.” The wicker baskets in the RRUUC stairwell outside the sanctuary will be labeled and used for collection of these items.

Congratulations! You'll be spending time this week making our community a better place to live.
Your team leader should contact you to verify your registration and give you any information you need. If you haven't been contacted or or you have questions, log into the River Road website and check the ACTION Week catalog for the leader's contact information.
Take a camera to your activity and take pictures for the slide show! When you're done, email to actionweek(at)rruuc.org or put on a cd and place in the ACTION Week mailbox.
Come to the ACTION Week Celebration on Sunday, April 25, after the second service, 12:30 - 2:30pm!
Fun for both children and adults--see a slide show of our ACTION Week teams at work, share your stories, sing along and enjoy great RRUUC cooking.
